Stephen Ministry

Purpose: To provide one-to-one Christian care to parishioners who are grieving, depressed, or experiencing other stresses in life.

Activities: Stephen Ministers are trained in Christian caring skills: how to listen effectively, how to deal with feelings, how to maintain confidentiality, and how to deal with people experiencing crises.  If you are interested in being a Stephen Minster or if you would like someone to listen, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to you or a friend facing a crisis or going through a tough time, please call one of the Stephen Leaders listed below.

Where: St. Jude’s Parish Hall

When: Please call for information about the next training session.

Time Commitment: 50 hours of training over several months, followed by care giving about one hour per week.
