Confirmation

Confirmation is a two year process.  Naturally, it is expected that every Candidate is attending Mass each week and living their faith.

Each Candidate is required to choose a Sponsor.  The Sponsor is expected to be a practicing Catholic. The Sponsor should be chosen by the Candidate.  They should be local as there are meetings that they must attend with the Candidate. The Sponsor may not be the parent of another Candidate.

Each Candidate must attend a Weekend Retreat during each year of the process.  We provide three Retreats each year in an effort to accommodate the busy schedules of our teens and families. 

Each candidate is expected to contribute 20 hours of Christian Service each year of the process.  We ask that they perform this service outside of their own home and family. We provide a number of service opportunities in each year to help the Candidates in fulfilling that responsibility.

The Candidates are expected to attend all of the classes during each Year.  They are allowed to miss two classes.  Should a candidate miss a third class they will be asked to repeat the year.

Pizza and drinks are provided on the patio after the 5:00pm Mass on Sundays.  We ask parents to help by taking a turn to supervise and serve the pizza Dinner.  We ask teens to contribute $3.00.

We ask all parents to pray for our program and especially our Teens.  The Church remains unlocked at all times during Confirmation class.  We have a box of our “concerns and prayer requests” that will be in the Chapel in the hopes that you will find time to pray for them.
