Faith Formation - Justice & Peace

Justice and Peace Study Group

Purpose:  To provide participants with a deeper understanding of the spiritual principles underlying justice, peace, and environmental issues; to discuss selected issues and how spiritual principles can shape/reshape our thinking.
Activities:  Meet as a small group to learn and share about justice and peace.  Also to identify possible actions that individual members of the group, or the group itself, may consider taking – on an optional basis only – in support of or in opposition to specific issues.
Where:  In the homes of small group members on a voluntary and rotating basis.
When:  Once per month on a weeknight from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. except Fridays, with summers off.  Small group meetings will continue as long as there is interest.
Time commitment:  Meetings are once a month for 1½ hours.  About 45 minutes of reading per month is required in preparation for meetings.  Preparation material will include a small book on Justice and Peace plus other material, which will be provided.  Cost of materials will be less than 10 dollars.
