Twice a year Loaves and Fishes gathers teams to give service to those who cannot physically or financially take care of needs at their homes. It could be yard work, moving items, or a small repair. On occasion a team is able to help at the parish with chores necessary to brighten or improve our campus. Please consider joining in to help others while getting some good exercise and enjoying working with other parishioners. Not able to volunteer? Do you use a gardener service? You can donate gardener services to the Service Day Ministry.
What We Do - Service Day projects help seniors and disabled people who have become so physically and financially strapped that they, alone, can no longer handle small projects around the house and yard. Most of the people needing help are referred to us by the local ACTION agency. Our Service Day Teams take on new nearby projects (organizing, cleaning, moving furniture, packing . . . maybe cutting grass, trimming shrubs, raking leaves . . .that sort of thing). Why not put on your jeans, t-shirt, work shoes, a hat—and join us. No supplies or tools needed! We already have what you’ll need. And if you know someone who needs help, please let us know.
When - St. Jude Service Days occur in Spring, Fall, and as the Need Arises. Meet in the church parking lot at 8:30 am on Service Day for an assignment to an offsite project, which is usually completed by noon.
Who Should Volunteer - Families, groups (Men's Club, Scouts, etc.), individuals--of all ages, sizes and shapes! *Community Service Hours available
